After the last two months success with Comedy @ The terrace night club in Hull im so happy to announce that it will now be a monthly gig!!
This is my first residency as a Host (MC), I’m also being given the reigns to book the acts!!
using my advantage of working all over the country I will be bringing the best up and coming acts as well as some fantastic well established headliners that I have had the privilege to gig along side! I personally think this is far better than just reading reviews and booking acts, plus as I gig in Hull on a regular basis I know that a Hull audience won’t just sit there and listen to rubbish, with that in mind I only intend to bring the best to my nights!!
and on that note, take a look at May’s line up!!
I shall be the the host of this years Tribfest Laughing Bull comedy marque, I couldn’t be happier!! I have also been given the responsibility of booking the acts, I have pulled in a few favours on this one and have got some fantastic acts booked already!!
Patrick Monahan
Toju AKA E4’s balls of steal militant Black Guy
Chris McGlade
Mark Rough
To name a few,
Check out Tribfest’s website more acts being added daily.

Well this week my day job and night job have come together better than ever!!
Basically I asked the owner of the Company of which I Freelance with the most, if there was any work near the O2 arena as I’m going to see Louis CK on Wednesday with two comedy friends, James Beatty, (Promoter and owner of LOL Comedy) and comedy hero of mine Patrick Monohan, He only came up trumps!! I’m looking for bombs about 500 meters away from the O2!! And I can leave my vehicle on the site so I don’t even have to pay for parking!!!
Then as a bonus, the hotel I’m staying in is literally 300 meters away from a gig I am doing on Thursday night!!
If only every week as the only bomb disposal comedian was like this!!!
I’ve been watching this with a keen eye ever since I heard about it.
I so hope it’s a success!

I Was asked back for a third time to gig for the Heart & Lung Unit, Its their 2nd birthday and as I gigged for the 1st one it was a pleasure to be asked by Glenn Guest to come back for the 2nd!
This is one of my favourite gigs in London, Not only is it for a good cause but its one of the few gigs that will let you do a 20 min set if you are a newer act, I was actually booked here for my first ever 20 over 2 yrs ago, so when Glenn asked me to Headline I was over the moon!
I was especially happy about this gig because there was to be an agent in the room, but as it turned ut he never turned up, Oh well!
I did my pictures thing and even got away with some new jokes and had a mega time!
but was was good about this gig is that iIhad gotten a comedy pal of mine to do a 20 and I believe this was his first 20 spot!
Joe Charman the comedy beatboxer master opened the comedy section of the night with a few technical issues but soon sorted them out and went on to have a stormer of a gig to the point where he has been offered a regular spot on every event for H@LU!! All in all it was a top night! and im looking forward to doing it all again for their next birthday!
So after my newspaper interview I was contacted by a producer of ITV’s Calander News asking if id like to go for an interview on the TV, of course I did!
They arranged for a car to pick me up from Hull to take me to their Leeds studio, to do the interview and bring me back, TV is a totally different world! budgets seem to br none existent, two VIP taxis where used, nice 5 series BMW’s, once at the studio I was given a mic, a quick brew then boom, in the recording studio, it was all so quick!! then off I was on my way home!

After the piece that was in the newspaper about the Giggles comedy night at Hayworth arms on Beverly road Hull on the 3rd March (little plug) I was contacted by Ian Midgely a reporter from the Hull Daily Mail, He wanted to do a two page spread on me and my job and comedy, and here it is.

So January was a slow month for comedy and work!
But now that February is approaching its all go!!
I’ve been given a residency (basically the regular MC) of a new comedy club in Hull, This is going to be a big deal bringing acts from across the country to Hull, Watch this space for more details!
I can also announce that I’m going to be a father in June!!
That’s pretty much it for now until the gigs start happening! Thanks for reading, and if you never you don’t get a thanks, not that you would know about it anyways!

Well what can I say; I’ve been run around all over this country the last month!!
I have been fortunate enough to have been a warm up act for Patrick Monahan at a Uni gig in Derby where I met some very influential comedy people, I must have done well that night because the following night I was booked to do a private corporate gig and also was booked by a comedy agent to do some gigs in the new year (does this mean I have representation??) It doesn’t matter to me anyways just having someone get me gigs is good enough as any comic will tell you, you send out about 10 emails to get 1 gig!
We brought comedy back to the Royal Mail pub in Thorngumbald, Adam Rushton Headlined the night and worked the audience really well with some brilliant ad-lib! and we gave some money away in our end of night cash raffle and was asked by Vicky the land lady if we can make it a regular monthly night!!
I MC’d Comedy at the New Clarence where Glenn Moore headlined and although the audience was a bit thin on the ground the night was a lot of fun indeed we also gave a way some cash in our end of night raffle
Last night i had my first middle spot for Jon Reed (Other side Comedy) at the Pave inHull, What a top night a sell out show!! I was asked back next year to do another spot and was offered some MC work!! the headliner of the night really showed me what I am aiming for he totally owed the room! if you ever get the opportunity to see BOOTHBY GRAFFOE then do!! he is amazing and had my face hurting by the end of his set!
Oh and on a none comedy topic I was looking for Bombs in my home town of Hull, whilst doing research on the bombings of Hull I found out that Hull sustained the very last manned aircraft attack of WW2 on March 17th 1945! so basically the Luftwaffe where sat around on that morning saying “come on men we have bombed nearly all major city’s of England, where shall we do our last one”? So Hull it was!!
So last nights “Best Of ULL” gig was exactly that! The cream of the crop from Hull’s comedy talent, The highlights,
Jack Gleadow, who without a doubt stormed his second gig. This boy will be one of those who I say, “I’ve gigged with him”
Liam Smeadly was on top form having just hosted a day at the Princes Quay shopping centre for Viking FM,our audience was no match for him!
Rich Austin, it was good to see him break character and full on belly laugh on stage, I wanted to get a pic but it was over as soon a it began!
Angela King was consistently funny throughout then left on a killer new closer!
Paul Hazzel was his usual cheeky self but forgot to time himself and finished early, something I’m sure he does often!
Jed Salisbury, oh Jed, He came up trumps doing the newer stuff, even pulling of some brill add-lib telling one side of the female audience they are an older version of the other side!
Billy Lowther, one liner king of the night! Was put off his flow a bit buy having the front row in fits of laughter but that’s no bad thing!
Mike Morris, I’ve not seen Mike in over a year and was keen to see his progression and I was more than impressed especially the stuff about his wig!
The night was well held together by MC Andy Woolston who always does a top job and pulls it out if the bag every time!!
Now back to me!! I did some new jokes and added new pics to my set, and all landed like Felix Baumgartner!! I also was approached by the venue owner to put on another night which obviously I oblige, this will give me the opportunity to bring my London mates down for a gig, watch this space!!
That’s it! A top night all round!
