Comedy CV

Steve Rimmer is a Comedian from Hull who is a regular on the London Open Mic and pro scene. He started on the Comedy Circuit in January 2011 and as far as we know he is the UK’s only working Bomb Disposal Engineer Comedian. With his job he gets to travel the length and breadth of the country gigging whenever possible. His comedy style is suited to any part of a comedy night whether its opening, middle or closing, Steve has high energy and a cheeky charm, with a humor that has been compared to Keith Lemon.

Steve spent 8 years serving in the British Army (not that he likes to bang on about it) where he honed his skills at entertaining his fellow Troops. He strongly believes that if he can make a bunch of tired and hungry Soldiers laugh in places like Afghanistan then he will have no problems in a Comedy Club.

Steve’s unique background has made him an interesting subject for TV/Radio/Podcast/Newspaper Interviews (links at the bottom of the page)

He is a regular MC at TNT in London’s Kentish Town and has also guest MC’s many other Open Mic/Pro Nights. He organises comedy nights in his home town of Hull and is also the resident MC and booker of, The Laughing Bull Comedy Marque at Tribfest, Nibbles With Giggles @ Pasaz

Steve has performed at many charity gigs including  a one off gig at Hedely Court, the british armies rehabilitation centre also he has headlined many   “Help for Hero’s” charity gigs  a charity close to his heart.

Steve Rimmer:-

Steve took control over the Laughing Bull Comedy Marque at Tribfest 2013 for the very first time in 2013 and did an excellent job. Not only did he bring me some fantastic acts, his job as Compere and Comedian were top class. He is a top guy and loves comedy which shows through on all counts. – Ed Faulkner, Ed Entertainments, Laughing Bull, Tribfest Director

“One of the best up and coming MC’s around on the circuit today and a brilliant stand up act! Britains only bomb disposal comic who is blowing the roof of comedy gigs every night!” – Patrick Monahan

“Steve Rimmer, stepped up as host and compere for the night. With his likeable personality and his ability to get humour out of any audience member. Steve really did warm the audience up for a great night of comedy. Some comperes feel the need to pick on audience members to get laughs, whereas Steve chats to the audience in a way an old friend might, making jokes but never in a nasty way. He gives the audience the chance to make jokes back and comes up with some great lines, often on the spot, he is the perfect host for such a relaxed gig” Joe Stanley-Comedy reviewer and blogger

4 star review from Kate Copstic, “I only wish I had seen your show earlier, your in my one to watch for next year” Kate Copstic, Edinburgh.

“Very funny act, explosive from start to finish book him!” Stephen Watson, Laughing Pod Comedy Club

“has a natural, joyful stage presence, which fully engages the audience and he maximises on his unique background to deliver some well observed one-liners. Devilishly Funny!” – Marilyn Muruako, T-BIRD

“Quick whited charmingly cheeky and very interesting guest to have ,he REALLY is a Bomb Disposal Engineer” – Tim Shaw – The Wrong Show And Channel 4’s Balls Of Steel

” instantly likeable, funny and edgy – all with confidence and panache. Our audience loved him, and we’d have him back anytime”The Railway Fallout Comedy Club

“has come on leaps and bounds since we had him in April 2011. Now with a full years’ experience under his belt, he’s got better delivery, better gags and it’s doubtful he’ll have to go back to working in that ice cream van anytime soon. Steve’s great, we love him! – Glen Guest, Heart & Lung Unit

“Steve is a chatty affable character who doesn’t mind venturing into the,”did he just say that” territory”  Ian Midgley, Hull Daily Mail
